John McCainHere’s a late Friday news dump and question for you.

Just how healthy is John McCain?

To hear the U.S. press write it, after getting a three-hour look at over 1,200 pages of documents, pretty good:

Not so fast writes Diane Francis in Canada’s National Post. McCain’s health is terrible:

  • He is one lesion away from Stage III melanoma, which is fatal.
  • He has serious arthritis and may need a joint replacement.
  • He recently had benign polyps removed from his colon.
  • He has dizzy spells.
  • He was treated for an enlarged prostate
  • He underwent cataract surgery
  • He suffers from vertigo.
  • He takes medication for high cholesterol
  • He had early stage squamous cell cancer this year.

Some of this strikes me as piling on. Know any man of 71 without an enlarged prostate? Vertigo is easy to get if you stand up too fast, at any age. I take medication for high cholesterol.

Personally, I’d rather laugh at the whole thing. But if you like argue about it below.
